She is a pre-doctoral researcher in the R&D group on Archaeology Studies, Antiquity and Territory (GEAAT) hired by the Xunta de Galicia in the Prehistory Area of the University of Vigo. She is also part of the Group of Teaching Innovation in Heritage Education (GIDEP) of the same institution and the international association on gender studies in Archaeology AGE (Archaeology Gender of Europe).
Currently, she combines teaching with the development of his doctoral thesis, within the framework of Public Archaeology and gender studies, about the discourses generated around the Prehistory of the Northwest Peninsular from a gender perspective within the Doctoral Program Interuniversity in Protection of Cultural Heritage (University of Vigo).
Iria Souto Castro

Degree in Geography and History from the University of Vigo with a specialty in Ancient History, she completed a master’s degree in teaching at CC.SS: Geography and History. She took several courses in Egyptology at the University of Murcia, as well as predoctoral stays at the University of Birmingham and Oxford. Likewise, she participated in conferences in Ourense, A Coruña, Madrid, Zaragoza, Murcia, Birmingham, and Berlin as well as in various publications. As complements to his training, she specialized in Late Egyptian (Ramesis Period), Egyptian religion and Ancient History of Egypt. She participated in an archaeological project/course in Luxor and is currently completing his doctoral thesis in the Uvigo program in the Protection of Cultural Heritage
