Brief CV

PhD in Physical Geography from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Since 1993 she has been a Head Professor of Physical Geography at the Faculty of History (Department of History, Art and Geography), on the Ourense Campus of the University of Vigo. She currently develops teach in the area of Physical Geography, in the University Master’s Degree in Valuation, Management and Protection of Cultural Heritage and in the University Master’s Degree in Teacher Training at the Ourense Campus.
Director of the former R&D Research Group “Research on Resources and Heritage” (HF1 UVI) in the period 2000-2010. She has been a member of the GEAAT Group since 2011 as Principal Investigator.
Participates in various research projects developing the lines of Geomorphology, Heritage, Territorial Dynamics and Eco-social Systems (environment, nature, and society). Being since 2005: “Erosive landscapes with prolonged temporal evolution in stable areas” (CGL2004-06516 / BTE / 2004-2007); “The value of place in the new rural geography” (SEG2005-01587 / GEOG, 2006-2008); “Tourism, territory and identity” (CSO2009-11793, 2010-2012); “Alto Támega- Actions in the Heritage Landscape (INOU2013); “Reconversion, revaluation and reinvention of interior tourist spaces” (CSO2013-41374-R, 2014-2016); “Current state of Geomorphological Heritage in the area of Ourense” (INOU2015); “Documentation, delimitation, state of conservation and scientific and patrimonial valuation of Aquis Querquennis archaeological archaeology” (INOU2019); and “Inland Tourism in Spain – Challenges, values and strategies in the face of changing situations and crises” (CSO2016-74861-R / 2017-2020) and “Estrategias de adaptación y alternativas a partir de los destinos de turismo de interior en tiempos de cambio. (ADAPTATUR_Interior)” (PID2020-114186RB-C21/2021-2025).
She is the author of more than one hundred scientific publications related to her lines of research. She has directed more than forty academic works (Final Degree Projects, Final Master’s Projects and Doctoral Theses).
She is part of the Group of Teaching Innovation in Heritage EduAction (GIDEP) of the University of Vigo. In the field of transfer and dissemination of research she participated: in the editions of the Forum of University Innovation and Research- Expouniversitas (2018-2020 University of Vigo); in the working group “Natural Spaces and Tourism-Strategy 2030” (SEGITTUR 2019); at the Rural Research Observatory (2019 Ourense Rural Summit); and in the activities of EXXperimenta en Femenino (Program for the promotion of scientific, technological and innovation culture of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology FECYT, FCT-18-13122, 2019-2020 Universidade de Vigo).
