Beatriz Comendador Rey (Vilagarcía de Arousa, 1967), archaeologist and doctor in Geography and History (1997) from USC with the thesis: “The beginnings of metallurgy in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula”.
From 1998 to 2004, she was researching by means of short-term contracts as an archaeologist and five collaboration grants in archaeological museums, as well as an I+D contract with the City Council of A Coruña (Labour Personnel Group A).
From 2005 to 2010, she was a part-time associate lecturer in the Faculty of History of the Ourense Campus of the University of Vigo. By means of a public competition, she got her present job as a Professor in the Prehistory area of the University of Vigo (2010). She is a member of the Group of Studies on Archaeology, Antiquity and Territory (GEAAT).
Researcher in several projects related to archaeological heritage and its dissemination and socialization and also the author of several publications and several blogs of dissemination or reflection on the presence of archaeology and the past in today’s society, such as Past Recycled.
